Echter' Classic : Stephany Ortega Trio

Program

This concert takes listeners through the alleys of Buenos Aires. Accompanied by an accordionist, a double bass player and two virtuoso dancers, soprano Stephany Ortega brings to life the tireless inventiveness of Astor Piazzolla, father of modern tango.

Astor Piazzolla, one of the most illustrious composers of the last century and creator of the "Tango Nuevo", is honored in this recital. His varied music, his surprising sounds, his rhythmic richness, make his work an inexhaustible source of emotion and sensuality, his compositions overflow all generations. Piazolla has captured the popular spirit of tango – a pillar of Argentine culture – by expressing it through a new voice, with classical and jazz influences.

The evening presents a set of his most beautiful canciones connected with a little pop and electro touch.

From ECHO.lu

The Stephany Ortega Trio presents original arrangements that allow Piazzolla's songs to navigate between classical, popular and contemporary music and to merge with Stephany's lyrical and modern voice.

After two critically acclaimed albums, "Return" and "American Soul: from Broadway to Paris," the latter nominated for the International Classical Music Awards, Ortega continues to showcase his Latin American roots with this new opus.
