"Eine der aufregendsten Stimmen der aktuellen Generation des spanischen Jazz", titelte Jazz Thing über Daniel García, als dieser im April 2019 sein erstes ACT-Album "Travesuras" vorstellte. Der Pianist taucht tief in die Musik seines Heimatlandes ein und verbindet sie auf äußerst originelle und ausdrucksstarke Weise mit dem Vokabular des modernen Jazz-Piano-Trios.

Auf "Vía de la Plata" setzt García diesen Weg unbeirrt fort ... García, der in Madrid lebt, trägt ein tiefes Gefühl für die Geschichte in sich. Das liegt vor allem daran, dass er in Salamanca geboren und aufgewachsen ist, einer geschichtsträchtigen Stadt, die mehrere bedeutende archäologische Stätten beherbergt.

Es ist jetzt etwa zehn Jahre her, dass García am Berklee College of Music in Boston Preise gewann, während er bei Danilo Pérez Unterricht nahm. García erinnerte sich daran, wie der große panamaische Pianist ihn dazu ermutigte, tiefer in die Musik seines Landes einzutauchen. Er fand auch Wege, diese emotionale Kraft in Musik auszudrücken: auf tiefe, überzeugende und umfassende Weise auf diesem inspirierenden Album.

This concert celebrates the 10 years existence of the Arthur Possing Quartet, a band which had the pleasure of touring extensively and sharing their music with the world (Mexico, Eastern countries, Europe,…). A best-of from the two first opuses, but also a preview of a new album to come.

The Arthur Possing Quartet was formed in 2013 and has released two albums to date: Four Years (2018) and Natural Flow (2021), which got acclaimed, both critically as well as from the audience. Their repertoire consists of own compositions, as well as tunes of jazzmen they really appreciate. The quartet plays modern jazz, with influences from all genres, without forgetting the tradition.
