Akroāma

Program

Akroāma explores the issues of social justice and inequality. The play explores how social environments shape our deepest identity, examining how we find our place when no chair is offered to us. This is all conveyed through a set design that becomes a poetic and abstract mise en abyme of the invisible barriers between social classes.

Performed by virtuoso actors and featuring an original soundtrack created by an electronic composer and an oud player, the play offers a sensitive and committed response that is far removed from the intellectualisation that sometimes dominates contemporary creation. It champions an emotional and accessible art form rooted in lived experience and feelings.

Designed to be performed in non-dedicated venues, Akroāma seeks to forge social connections and encourage dialogue between different communities.
